(A comparative study of the "idea/expression dichotomy" under the U.S. Copyright Act and the N. 2121/1993)
This book analyses the “idea/expression dichotomy” as a “central axiom” of both, U.S. and Greek Copyright Law. The author expresses his belief that the “idea/expression dichotomy” has failed to provide a safe balance between the colliding interests of the Freedom of Speech/Art and the Copyright, and draws the conclusion that this “dichotomy” turns out to be an imprecise and unsafe “tool” of interpretation and implementation of both, U.S. Copyright Act and Ν. 2121/1993, having as a result, in fact, the cause of more adverse “side effects” against the very same colliding interests, which the “idea/expression dichotomy” is supposed to fairly balance and secure.
